In 2006, the City of Forney, through its Economic Development Commission, engaged architects to complete a study of the market in order to determine the need for and size of a community hospital. The conclusion for a 60-bed, full-service hospital was revealed. The response from the physician community was very positive.

In order to meet the needs of the community, Cirrus will develop a full-service community hospital with an initial capacity of 40 beds, including an ICU and Obstetrics. The hospital will be designed for future expansion and will include four operating suites, two procedure rooms, and a cardiac catheterization laboratory. Augmenting the Emergency Room will be a “fast-track” Urgent Care Center located in the adjacent medical office building. This building will also provide space for a Wound Care Center and a Sleep Disorder Laboratory.

The facility will also have a unique strategic relationship with Medical City of Dallas assuring patients access to sophisticated care while allowing Forney Regional Medical Center to provide, among others, obstetric, cardiology, orthopedic, and pediatric services.

Forney is located in Kaufman County, east of Dallas off Highway 80. Both the City of Forney and Kaufman County have strong growth rates: Kaufman County is expected to grow by 40% in the next ten years, and the City of Forney is expected to expand by 30% in the next five years.
